Some how I ended up looking at some old photo's of my wonderful ponies (and donkey), that were once a big part of my life.... Most of the pictures go back at least 17 years ago and so unfortunately all my faithful friends have passed away...
So I thought that it would be a fitting tribute to them, to share these memories with you. I hope you like them.............
Gimley
Miss V about 2 years old.... She just loved him so much and he loved her!
Our rescued Donkey Layateaze
Gimley and The Little One
The Little One came to me because he was going to end up in a nasty place, so I was quick to home him, until I could find him a loving owner that I knew would take great care of him. He suffered from foot problems so needed a understanding home....
Gimley and Ben
I brought Ben from the New Forest Sales, he wasn't a pony that had run on the forest, he was a part bred Arab bred by a lovely lady in Christchurch Dorset (he spent 5 years with me until I had to let him go when I started college and was unable to afford two ponies). A very sad day.
Gimley on the other hand was a pure New Forest and had HD branded on his back. I purchased him at the age of 6 years from a family in Chichester... He was my 14th Birthday Gift from my parents after many years of nagging them, like most little pony mad girls..... I had a job that paid for his keep and that was the deal..Dad said I will buy you a pony but you have to pay for his keep and that I did for nearly 20 years until he passed away.....
I still miss him today.. he was my best friend. He knew more secrets about me than anyone else...... He was my crutch when I needed a shoudler to cry on ( I have suffered with depression from my early teens and he always seemed to get me out from many a dark place. Animals have this amazing ability to bring calm and peace and thats why my life has always been surrounded by them......
Without sounding to cheesy..I would like to Thank everyone who has ever taken the time to look or has left a comment on my blog. Your words are very much appreciated and I find much comfort in them....Thank You....
Blessings to you all and enjoy the weekend
Love and light

I adore horses and ponies, Julie, so this post particularly resonated with me. What a lovely tribute to your pony friends. Beautiful! x
Wow - these are great, Julie. What beautiful ponies. I loved the cape you made for your daughter too- those photos are beautiful - she looks like a fairy girl in the woods.
Julie I love your ponies. I'm sure they brought you so much joy when you had them. What a treat for the children to grow up with.
hugs
What wonderful photos..great memories I'm sure. Thanks for sharing ;-)
your friend,
Janet
Beautiful post. Your photos are stunning. I have never owned a horse but my mother use to have an Arab horse when she was young.
I love the shape of their very pointed ears. They look really alert and elegant. My mum said they have great personalities too!
Lovely to visit you.x
Jo.
They are so sweet, thanks for sharing these precious memories.
I don't know if this comment will show up, but I just wanted to say what lovely ponies. Sadly, we had to part with our three (Fahly, Maggie and Itsy) in the last 3 years and I still miss Fahly terribly.
I thought that Gimley was a Forester (I had several myself, having grown up in Southampton.)
